The long awaited replacement to the Nike Kantara has just arrived. It’s called the Nike Air Equalon. It remains true to the Kantara fit and feel and we believe most loyal Kantara fans will be pleased with this new model. Our annual Team Rock marathon and half marathon training program begins this Saturday, September 9 at 6:30am. We follow and 18 week training schedule leading up to the PF Chang’s half and full marathon on January 14. As always, there is no registration or fee required to participate in the training. All ability levels are welcome and we divide into various groups according to pace and distance.

Once again we are offering a Team Rock “Survival Running Care-kit” which is a fantastic combination of gear for $149.99. Details of the package can be seen on the Team Rock page.

SRC is proud to announce that we have the new Nike+ shoes and iPod Sport Kits available for sale. We currently have the men’s and women’s Nike Air Zoom Plus shoes. We have a full demo system setup for customers to test. Customers can strap on an iPod Nano and try on the shoes with the embedded speed and distance sensor. Test runs outside our store are welcome. Scottsdale Running Company is opening a second store in Tempe on the northeast corner of Rural and Warner Rd. next Landis Cyclery.

The new location is twice the size of our Scottsdale store. We will continue to offer many of the features that the running community has come to appreciate: group runs three days per week, shower & changing facilities, and a “TEAM ROCK” training program for the PF Changs half & full marathon. Although we don’t have an official date set, we anticipate a grand opening champagne celebration sometime in September!

We will have more announcements as an opening date draws near.
